Pope Francis Shows Improvement in Health, Can Breathe Without Oxygen Support

Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized for over a month, is reportedly showing signs of improvement in his health. The Vatican announced that the 88-year-old pontiff is now able to breathe without supplemental oxygen for certain periods of time. However, he continues to require non-invasive mechanical ventilation at night, which typically involves the use of a mask to assist with breathing.

According to the latest update from the Holy See, the Pope's condition is stable and has slightly improved due to ongoing respiratory and mobility therapies. His daily routine includes prayer, rest, and work, as he continues to recover from his illness.

Pope Francis has been receiving treatment at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome since February 14, where he is being treated for a serious bilateral pneumonia. Complicating his recovery is the fact that he has been without a portion of his right lung since a surgical procedure he underwent in his youth.

The next medical bulletin regarding the Pope's health is expected to be released on Wednesday, providing further updates on his condition and recovery process.
