Greußen - A routine evening in the town took an unexpected turn when police received reports of individuals engaged in shooting activities on Andreas-Tentzel-Straße around 6:45 PM. Concerned citizens alerted law enforcement about a group reportedly handling a weapon.
Officers promptly arrived at the scene and discovered the group in the act of shooting at a makeshift target. Fortunately, no injuries or threats to public safety were reported.
Upon further investigation, it became clear that the individuals were not using a traditional air rifle, as initially suspected. The owner of the weapon clarified that it was a softair gun. Given the circumstances, police confiscated the weapon along with its ammunition for safety and legal reasons.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding the use of replica firearms in public spaces, prompting discussions about regulations surrounding such activities.
