The Berlin police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a man suspected of robbing a bank in the Schöneberg district. The incident occurred on June 23, 2025, when the suspect allegedly entered the bank located at Potsdamer Straße 138 shortly before its opening hours.
According to authorities, the man posed as a DHL delivery person, claiming to deliver a package to the bank. This ruse allowed him to gain access to the premises before the bank opened its doors to customers. Once inside, he reportedly brandished a firearm and demanded that an employee open the bank's cash vault.
The employee complied, and the suspect seized a significant amount of cash. Following the robbery, he is said to have restrained the employee before fleeing the scene in the direction of Kurfürstenstraße.
In response to the crime, the Kriminalpolizei (Criminal Police) has launched an investigation and is requesting anyone with information regarding the suspect's identity or whereabouts to come forward. They are particularly interested in any details that could assist in tracking down the individual involved in this serious offense.
The police have set up a dedicated unit to handle tips related to this case, and they are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to the appropriate authorities. Tips can be provided in person at the police station located at Eiswaldtstraße 18, Berlin, or by calling the designated hotline at (030) 4664-473119. Alternatively, information can be submitted via email to Dir4K31@polizei.berlin.de.
Members of the public are reminded that any information, regardless of how insignificant it may seem, could be crucial to the investigation. The police are also urging witnesses to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in addressing and solving such crimes.
As Berlin continues to grapple with issues of safety and security, incidents like this highlight the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in maintaining public safety and ensuring that those responsible for criminal acts are brought to justice.
Authorities remain vigilant and proactive in their efforts to combat crime in the city and are hopeful that with public assistance, they can swiftly apprehend the suspect and bring closure to this unsettling case.
