Police Continue Search for Shooter in Menden, NRW - Woman Released

The search for a suspect involved in a deadly shooting incident in Menden, North Rhine-Westphalia, continues as authorities seek the public's assistance. The incident, which occurred in a residential area, left one man dead and another injured. The suspect is described as a 40-year-old male with Serbian-Montenegrin nationality, according to the Arnsberg public prosecutor's office.

On Friday, following a dispute, the suspect allegedly opened fire, fatally wounding a 45-year-old German man despite attempts at resuscitation. Another victim, a 49-year-old Turkish man, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a specialized medical facility. As of the latest updates, his condition remains unclear.

Authorities had previously detained a 40-year-old woman at the crime scene, but she has since been released due to a lack of evidence linking her to the crime. The woman reportedly left the scene in a vehicle with the suspect but returned alone under unknown circumstances.

Law enforcement officials revealed that the suspect fled the scene in a car, and despite extensive search efforts, he has not yet been apprehended. The shooting reportedly took place near a construction site where witnesses indicated that the victims were working at the time of the altercation.

As investigations proceed, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and officials are working to gather more information regarding the events leading up to the incident.
