Police Arrest Four Suspects Following Armed Robbery in Altena

In Altena, authorities have apprehended four individuals in connection with an armed robbery that targeted an elderly couple. The incident occurred in the early hours of May 5, when six suspects, aged between 17 and 33, rang the doorbell of an 82-year-old man and his 86-year-old wife. Using deceptive tactics, they gained entry into the couple's residence.

Once inside, the assailants threatened the victims with firearms, ransacking the home before fleeing with cash. Following the crime, police launched an intensive investigation that resulted in the issuance of arrest warrants by the Hagen District Court.

Last Tuesday, law enforcement officials, supported by special operations units, conducted searches of six locations in Altena and nearby Lüdenscheid. During these operations, valuable evidence was collected.

Out of the four individuals detained, a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old female were released shortly after their arrest. The two remaining suspects, aged 19 and 20, are currently held in pre-trial detention. Authorities are actively searching for two additional suspects: a 19-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, and they are considering the issuance of an international arrest warrant for the latter.

The police continue their efforts to ensure public safety and apprehend all individuals involved in this violent crime.
