In a disturbing incident in Frankfurt, a 59-year-old pedestrian was struck by a black BMW SUV while walking on the sidewalk along Homburger Landstraße. The event occurred around 11:55 PM on September 6, 2025, near the intersection with Berkersheimer Weg.
The victim, who has mobility challenges, approached the driver of the parked SUV, which was located near house number 382, to speak with him. After the pedestrian attempted to continue on his way, the driver started the vehicle and proceeded to hit him, reportedly cursing at the man and demanding he move aside.
Following the collision, the driver fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian injured on the ground. Emergency services were called, and the victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities described the suspect as a male aged between 20 and 30, with short black hair and a full beard. He is also noted to have a tattoo on his neck and a physically fit appearance.
The Frankfurt police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are actively seeking witnesses who may have information regarding the event or the identity of the driver. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact the police at 069 / 755 11400.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about pedestrian safety in urban areas and the responsibilities of drivers to be vigilant and respectful of those on foot.
