OnePlus 15 Debuts Globally with Larger Battery and Refined Design

Thu 13th Nov, 2025

The latest flagship smartphone from OnePlus, the OnePlus 15, is now available worldwide, introducing a host of design and hardware enhancements compared to its predecessor. The new model showcases a more angular aesthetic, moving away from the previous round camera module and adopting a rectangular camera design reminiscent of other leading smartphones on the market.

One of the major highlights of the OnePlus 15 is its substantial battery upgrade. The device features a dual-cell silicon-carbon anode battery with an impressive capacity of 7,300 mAh. Despite this significant boost in battery life, the device maintains a slim profile, measuring only 8.1 mm in thickness. This makes it thinner than some competitors that house similarly large batteries. Fast charging capabilities are also included, with support for up to 120W via cable and 50W wirelessly, ensuring minimal downtime for users.

Advanced Display Technology

The OnePlus 15 comes equipped with a flat LTPO OLED display spanning 6.78 inches. The screen provides a resolution of 2,772 x 1,272 pixels and supports a dynamic refresh rate ranging from 1Hz up to 165Hz. Although the resolution is slightly lower than its predecessor, the increased refresh rate offers smoother visuals. The display can reach a peak brightness of 1,800 cd/m² and is protected by Gorilla Glass, offering robust resistance to scratches and impacts. The frame surrounding the display is a slim 1.15 mm, contributing to a modern, symmetrical appearance.

Security is enhanced through an integrated ultrasonic fingerprint sensor beneath the display, a technology known for its speed and accuracy compared to traditional optical scanners. The OnePlus 15 is also certified with IP69 and IP69K ratings, signifying maximum protection against dust and water ingress, including high-pressure and high-temperature water jets.

User Interface and Performance Upgrades

Replacing the traditional alert slider, the OnePlus 15 incorporates a multifunctional action button. This feature provides customizable shortcuts, allowing users to quickly access frequently used applications or functions such as the camera or flashlight. The change mirrors trends seen in other flagship devices, aiming to enhance convenience and flexibility.

At the core, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, available with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB using UFS 4.1 technology. This hardware combination ensures high-speed performance, responsive multitasking, and ample storage for demanding applications and media.

Camera System and Imaging Features

The OnePlus 15 is equipped with a triple-camera setup, each sensor offering a resolution of 50MP. The main camera uses a Sony sensor with optical image stabilization, while the secondary sensors include an ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, both featuring advanced stabilization. The front-facing camera boasts a 32MP sensor designed for high-quality selfies and video calls.

Unlike previous models, the OnePlus 15 does not continue its partnership with Hasselblad for camera tuning. Instead, the device utilizes an in-house image processing engine, rebranded as DetailMax, which is based on technology from its sister company Oppo. This aims to provide improved detail and color accuracy in photos and videos.

Software and Update Commitment

The smartphone runs on OxygenOS 16, which is based on Android 16. The updated operating system brings a redesigned user interface, optimized animations, and new AI-driven features intended to enhance usability and everyday efficiency. OnePlus commits to delivering four major Android updates and five years of security updates for the OnePlus 15, offering a reasonable balance of software longevity and security, though this is slightly less than what some competitors currently offer.

Availability and Pricing

The OnePlus 15 is available in three color options: Infinite Black, Sand Storm (beige), and Ultraviolett (light violet). The base model, featuring 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, is offered exclusively in black, while the higher-tier variant with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is available in all colors. Pricing starts at EUR950 for the base model and EUR1,050 for the higher configuration, with a limited-time discount available for early buyers on the larger storage model.

With its combination of a high-capacity battery, innovative display technology, robust performance, and sophisticated design, the OnePlus 15 positions itself as a compelling choice in the competitive flagship smartphone segment.
