Star Rating 4/5

A perfect place to end a long and lazy evening walk along the Isar is Bar ZOOZIE'S, situated on the city centre side of the Wittelsbacherbrücke.

The terrace outside the restaurant was full when we arrived at around 9 p.m. and there was not a seat to spare. The atmosphere and decor inside were pleasing, with a long bar dominating the front half of the establishment and high window tables to match. Further into the restaurant there is a dining area where the walls are lined with books and a small children's area. One can also glimpse a cozy lounge that looks aimed towards relaxing and less towards dining.

The menu was not extensive but contained a range of breakfasts, salads, pastas, risottos, and burgers; there is also a daily specials board. I ordered a cheeseburger, served on crispy focaccia bread with chips and dipping sauces, which cost around EUR12.90. Presented on a rustic wooden board with the chips in a glass, it contained rocket salad, cheese, and crispy cured meat. The burger itself was of good quality and rich in flavour. It was thoroughly enjoyable food and our request for tap water was not frowned upon, as it is in some Munich restaurants.

My dining partner and I shared a carafe of the cheapest white wine for EUR8.50, and found that it was more than drinkable. Though we did not indulge in a cocktail, the prices ranged from EUR6.50 - EUR8.50 and a daily cocktail offer is available.

Service was friendly and helpful, although somewhat slow. After our drinks arrived, it seemed like an age until our food order was taken. It took a similarly long amount of time for the twice-requested bill to turn up.

Unfortunately the bar offers no Happy Hour. However, a live DJ plays every Friday and Saturday. The choice of DJ changes each week.
