N26 Expands Services by Launching Mobile Plans

Wed 7th May, 2025

N26, the digital banking platform, has officially entered the mobile telecommunications sector by introducing its own mobile service, N26 SIM. Customers in Germany can now subscribe to mobile plans directly through the N26 app.

Following a recent announcement from N26's CEO regarding the company's plans to venture into mobile services, the launch marks a significant step for the neobank. Users can now access various mobile tariffs easily through their banking app.

N26 SIM: Flexible Mobile Tariffs

The N26 SIM service offers three different mobile plans tailored to meet varying data needs: a 10 GB plan for EUR13.99, a 30 GB plan for EUR19.99, and a 100 GB plan for EUR34.99 per month. Notably, N26 does not provide physical SIM cards; instead, all plans utilize eSIM technology, requiring compatible smartphones.

Included in all plans are unlimited national calls and text messages, along with free roaming within the EU. The N26 SIM operates on Vodafone's 5G network in Germany and is delivered in partnership with the mobile service provider 1Global.

Simple Management Through the N26 App

The entire process of booking an N26 SIM plan, activating the eSIM, and managing the mobile subscription is streamlined through the N26 app. Additionally, users have the flexibility to switch between multiple phone numbers and plans on a single device, allowing for a clear separation between personal and professional communications, or facilitating travel flexibility.

Another appealing feature of N26's mobile plans is the absence of fixed contract terms, as customers benefit from a monthly cancellation policy. Subscribers can also adjust their data plans monthly according to their needs, whether they require more or less data at any given time.

Availability and Future Plans

To take advantage of the mobile services, customers must have an existing N26 bank account. Currently, the N26 SIM service is being rolled out exclusively for private customers in Germany, with business customers excluded from this initial phase. The company has indicated plans to expand its mobile offerings to other European markets in the future.

This strategic move positions N26 ahead of its competitor, Revolut, which recently announced its intent to enter the mobile market later this year. As the banking landscape continues to evolve, N26's expansion into telecommunications highlights its commitment to providing comprehensive financial services to its customers.
