Munich 7-day incidence below 35 - possible lockdown easing coming
The seven-day incidence for Munich continues to be below the threshold of 35. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the value for the Bavarian capital is currently 28.5 (as of Feb. 18). Should the incidence remain below 35 for a longer period of time, the first opening steps are to be taken - this was most recently announced by Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) after the federal-state conference. So when will there be relaxations in Munich?
This Friday, Merkel as well as Bavaria's Minister-President Markus Söder (CSU) and Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) will speak with Bavarian district councils and mayors in a video link about how to proceed in the Corona crisis. "Based on this discussion result and the further development of the Munich 7-day incidence, the municipal crisis team will then deal with the issue of possible relaxations next week," a spokesman for the city of Munich is quoted as saying by Bild newspaper.
