A traffic control operation in Spandau turned chaotic when a motorcyclist sped through the checkpoint, resulting in injuries to a police officer. The incident occurred around 4:15 PM on Brunsbrüttler Damm, where law enforcement officials were conducting checks on two vehicles.

According to police reports, the motorcycle approached the control area at high speed, passing by the officers without stopping. After initially speeding away towards Zeppelinpark, the rider made a U-turn and returned to the checkpoint, disregarding several signals to pull over.

As the motorcycle passed the officers again, it struck one officer on the left side of his body. Another officer managed to dodge the oncoming vehicle just in time. Despite sustaining injuries to his left hand and knee, the affected officer continued his duties.

The motorcyclist, whose identity remains unknown, fled the scene. Law enforcement has initiated an investigation into the incident, focusing on charges of dangerous interference with traffic, bodily harm, evading police, and illegal street racing.

This incident raises concerns about safety during traffic controls, especially given the rising number of reckless driving incidents in urban areas. Authorities urge the public to adhere to traffic regulations and respect law enforcement efforts aimed at ensuring safety on the roads.

In recent years, there has been a notable increase in illegal street racing and high-speed violations on German roads, leading to calls for stricter enforcement and preventive measures. The police continue to emphasize the importance of cooperation from the public to enhance road safety.
