A troubling incident unfolded in Boulder, Colorado, where a man allegedly launched Molotov cocktails at participants of a pro-Israel demonstration. The event was a memorial gathering for hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

The suspect, identified as Mohamed Soliman, 45, has been apprehended, according to Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfearn, who addressed the media following the incident. The FBI confirmed that six individuals, aged between 67 and 88, sustained injuries, including burns, and required hospitalization.

The FBI is treating this incident as a potential terrorist attack. Director Kash Patel noted awareness of a targeted act of terrorism in Boulder, Colorado, via a social media post.

Videos circulating on social media depict chaotic scenes immediately after the attack, showing plumes of smoke and individuals lying on the ground, visibly shaken. Reports indicate that the suspect was heard chanting phrases supportive of Palestine, including slogans against Zionism.

The incident occurred shortly before 1:30 PM local time at the Pearl Street Mall, a bustling shopping area in Boulder. Jewish organizations in the United States condemned the attack as a violent antisemitic act against peaceful demonstrators. Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, expressed outrage, emphasizing that terrorism against Jews extends beyond the borders of Israel and is manifesting in American streets.

The pro-Israel event is described by the Anti-Defamation League as a weekly gathering for members of the Jewish community, aimed at raising awareness for Israeli hostages taken during the Hamas assault on October 7, 2023. Governor Jared Polis of Colorado remarked on social media that his thoughts are with those affected by this horrific act of terrorism, condemning all forms of hateful actions.
