Pforzheim - The search for 59-year-old Igor T. from Baden-Baden, who had been missing since January, has taken a tragic turn. Authorities confirmed that the missing family man was found dead in a fishing pond in Keltern, Baden-Württemberg, on Ascension Day. The discovery was made by passersby, leading to an immediate investigation.

An autopsy has confirmed that the body found in the pond belongs to Igor T., and based on the circumstances surrounding the discovery, law enforcement officials have concluded that a violent crime has occurred. In response, the Pforzheim police department has established a special task force, named "Sumpf," consisting of 26 officers to investigate the case as a homicide.

The police and the public prosecutor's office announced that the evidence gathered so far suggests foul play, although specific details regarding the manner of death are being withheld for investigative reasons. The authorities are actively working to determine whether Igor T. had any connections to the area where his body was discovered, approximately 40 kilometers from his home.

Igor T. was last seen on the morning of January 25, when he left his home without taking either of the family vehicles. Since that day, there had been no leads regarding his whereabouts until the grim discovery in the pond.

This case has drawn significant attention, and the public is urged to report any information that could aid the investigation. The authorities are keen to piece together the events leading up to Igor T.'s disappearance and subsequent death.
