In a recent social media post, Cyrus shared an image of the album cover, showcasing her in a costume designed by the late French fashion designer Thierry Mugler, who passed away in early 2022. Cyrus initially teased the album's existence in November 2024 during an interview with Harper's Bazaar, indicating that it draws inspiration from the classic Pink Floyd musical film The Wall released in 1982. The singer-songwriter's previous album, Endless Summer Vacation, released in 2023, included the hit single Flowers, further solidifying her place in the music industry. Following that success, she received six Grammy nominations in 2024, reflecting her continued evolution as an artist.
