Masked Men Rob McDonald's in Göttingen: Police Seek Witnesses

In a brazen late-night robbery, two masked individuals targeted a McDonald's restaurant located in the Grone district of Göttingen, Lower Saxony, on September 12, 2024. The incident unfolded shortly after the establishment had closed for business, resulting in the theft of several thousand euros in cash. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the staff, although they were reportedly threatened with a knife-like object and what appeared to be a firearm.

The robbery took place around 2:35 AM, when the duo entered the restaurant, confronting employees who were engaged in cleaning activities. According to police reports, the robbers brandished a large knife-like weapon along with a firearm, instilling fear among the workers.

Following the incident, the assailants managed to escape without being apprehended, prompting an immediate police search that yielded no results. Despite ongoing investigations by local law enforcement, the identities of the suspects remain unknown.

In a bid to gather more information, authorities have released images captured by surveillance cameras from the restaurant. An official appeal for public assistance has been made by the Göttingen police. The first suspect is described as having a slightly corpulent build, dressed in a dark tracksuit, and was seen carrying a distinctive fanny pack that may be associated with the luxury brand Louis Vuitton.

The second suspect appeared taller and thinner, also clad in a dark tracksuit, complemented by white sneakers featuring yellow and black details.
