Martin Weiser has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Hessen Chamber of Pharmacists, a significant move for the organization as it navigates various challenges in the healthcare sector. Weiser, a PhD-qualified pharmacist, brings extensive industry experience to the role. Previously, he served as the Managing Director of LAV Service GmbH within the Rhineland-Palatinate Pharmacists' Association and is well-known in the field for his tenure as the former Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (BAH), now known as Pharma Deutschland.

The Hessen Chamber of Pharmacists expressed confidence in Weiser's capabilities, highlighting his professional expertise and understanding of the political and professional challenges facing the sector as key attributes that will enable him to successfully lead the organization.

In his new role, Weiser expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with the board, chamber staff, and members to actively shape the future of the pharmacy profession. His leadership will be complemented by Julia Sievers, the Deputy Managing Director, who will continue to play a critical role as the legal advisor within the chamber's management framework.

The new leadership team, consisting of Weiser and Sievers in their full-time roles, alongside President Christian Ude and Vice President Schamim Eckert in their elected positions, is seen as well-equipped to tackle the forthcoming challenges in the healthcare landscape. Ude remarked on the combination of solid pharmaceutical expertise and established legal continuity within the organization, noting that this synergy positions them well to address the evolving needs in healthcare.

Weiser's appointment follows the announcement that the previous Managing Director, Matti Zahn, would depart from the chamber at the end of September due to personal reasons, prompting a search for his successor.
