Man Surfs on Train at 100 km/h in Marburg

In a startling incident reported on June 17, 2025, a man was witnessed engaging in a dangerous stunt on the Hessian Landesbahn in Marburg. The individual climbed onto the rear coupling of the HLB 15013 train as it made its journey towards Niederwalgern at a high speed.

The incident occurred around 11:50 AM, and it was only upon reaching the Niederweimar station that the man disembarked and fled the scene, eluding capture. According to the train dispatcher, the train reached speeds of up to 100 km/h during this reckless act.

Authorities were alerted immediately, with two patrols from the Federal Police Department in Gießen dispatched to the scene. However, they were unable to locate the individual responsible for this hazardous behavior.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of this incident. In light of the potential dangers posed by unauthorized activities near train tracks, the railway line was temporarily closed, resulting in delays of up to 18 minutes for seven different train services.
