A violent altercation in Berlin's Marzahn district led to a stabbing incident early Sunday morning, resulting in a 34-year-old man being hospitalized in critical condition. The police reported that the incident occurred around 1:10 AM outside a hotel located on Rhinstraße.

According to authorities, a 27-year-old man allegedly initiated the confrontation, first assaulting the older individual before using a knife to inflict a stab wound to the stomach area. Bystanders quickly intervened, providing first aid until emergency medical services arrived to transport the victim to a nearby hospital. Subsequently, he was admitted to the intensive care unit. Fortunately, law enforcement indicated that the victim's life does not appear to be in imminent danger.

In a surprising turn of events, the younger man involved in the altercation also filed a report, claiming that he had been attacked by a group of men. However, police investigations revealed that he did not sustain any injuries.

As part of the investigation, authorities detained the 27-year-old for identity verification. Following a blood test and an alcohol breath analysis, which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 1.1%, he was released back into the community.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding public safety in urban areas and the potential for escalation during conflicts. Local law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation, and further details are expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
