Man Jumps into Spree River to Evade Police After Nightclub Dispute

A man fled from police by jumping into the Spree River following a dispute in a Berlin nightclub. The incident occurred near the Michael Bridge, situated between the districts of Friedrichshain and Mitte. This unusual escape unfolded after a physical altercation broke out inside a club located on Holzmarktstraße.

According to a spokesperson from the Berlin police, the altercation escalated to the point where officers were summoned to the scene. Upon their arrival, the man attempted to evade capture by leaping into the river. Eyewitnesses reported that he made the jump from the Michael Bridge, a decision that drew immediate attention.

A private boat operator, who was in the vicinity, quickly responded to the situation by retrieving the man from the water. After being pulled from the Spree, the individual was handed over to the police, who then transferred him to medical personnel for further evaluation.

The man was subsequently taken to a hospital, although details regarding his injuries have not been disclosed. The police are continuing their investigation into the initial incident at the nightclub, where the confrontation reportedly involved bodily harm.
