Wed 23rd Jul, 2025

In a recent incident at Hamburg Central Station, a 44-year-old man was apprehended for allegedly stealing merchandise from a drugstore. The theft occurred on the evening of July 22, 2025, around 10:45 PM, where the suspect reportedly took items valued at approximately 30 euros.

According to reports, the individual was observed by a store detective as he took three products, which included a bottle of wine, a razor, and some food items, before exiting the checkout area without making any payment. The store detective intervened shortly after the man left the store and promptly contacted the Federal Police.

Upon the arrival of the authorities, a background check revealed that the suspect was wanted under a warrant. It was discovered that he had been involved in multiple thefts, specifically the pilfering of perfumes from various shops between February and March 2025.

Due to concerns regarding his potential flight risk, a judge ordered the man to be held in pre-trial detention. He was subsequently taken to the Federal Police station located at the central station. A breathalyzer test conducted on-site showed a blood alcohol level of 1.65 per mille, and a medical officer confirmed his capacity for detention.

Following the necessary police procedures, the man was transferred to a remand prison. Additionally, he is facing charges related to the theft of low-value items, and the investigation is being handled by the investigative unit of the Federal Police Inspection in Hamburg.
