Arrest Made After Assault on Teen in Kreuzberg, Berlin

Authorities in Berlin reported the arrest of a 53-year-old man in Kreuzberg following allegations of robbery and sexual assault against a 16-year-old girl. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon as the victim was walking along Erkelenzdamm at approximately 5:30 PM.

According to police reports, the man approached the teenager, grabbed her arm, and pulled her into nearby bushes. It is alleged that he touched her inappropriately over her clothing in both the chest and intimate areas. The suspect also stole her headphones and mobile phone, which were in her pocket.

After the assault, the man reportedly shouted at the victim to leave the area. In a state of distress, she managed to escape and contacted a family member, who then alerted the police. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries but was visibly shaken by the incident.

Police authorities were able to locate the stolen mobile phone in the vicinity of the crime scene. The suspect, who has a prior record with law enforcement, was apprehended and taken into custody. He is expected to be presented before an investigative judge today, who will determine the necessity of a detention order.

This incident underscores ongoing concerns regarding safety and security in urban areas, as local residents advocate for increased protection and preventive measures against such crimes.
