French President Emmanuel Macron has been actively positioning himself as a leading European figure and mediator regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Ahead of his upcoming trip to Washington, he has outlined his strategy for discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump. Macron intends to caution Trump against making a significant misstep in his approach to Russia and the war in Ukraine.

During a recent online event, Macron emphasized the importance of collaboration between the United States and Europe, asserting that it is crucial for Trump to recognize the benefits of such cooperation. He plans to convey to Trump that allowing Russia to assert control over Ukraine under President Vladimir Putin would represent a grave strategic error.

Macron articulated that should the U.S. President permit Russia to take over Ukraine, it would lead to the reclaiming of the country and its military, which is one of the largest in Europe, along with all its equipment, including American-made arms. He warned that such an outcome would not only be detrimental but also profoundly unwise.

In his address, Macron is expected to firmly state that being perceived as weak against Putin contradicts Trump's personal brand and interests. The French leader aims to reinforce the notion that strength is essential in dealing with Russia, thereby aligning U.S. actions with European interests in the context of the ongoing crisis.

This diplomatic endeavor underscores the complexities of international relations in light of the Ukraine war, showcasing Macron's commitment to fostering a united front among Western allies in response to Russian aggression.
