The new Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Guillaume, has expressed a passion for cooking, revealing that he often dreams of having pursued a career in the culinary arts. In an interview, he shared insights into his love for preparing meals, stating that cooking brings him a sense of calm and satisfaction.

At 43 years old, Guillaume fondly recalls his childhood spent in the kitchen, where he would watch chefs at work. He enjoys cooking for his family and friends, particularly during holidays, when he takes the opportunity to showcase his culinary skills.

His cooking style is diverse, featuring a mix of international dishes, with a notable fondness for Asian cuisine and traditional Luxembourgish recipes. One of his favorites is 'Gromperekichelcher', a popular local dish of fried potato pancakes, which he describes as flavorful, though not exactly diet-friendly.

Guillaume's early experiences in the kitchen were shaped by his mother, who would often find him perched on a stool, observing the cooking process intently. This formative exposure to culinary practices contributed to his enduring interest in food preparation, leading him to consider a different career path had circumstances been different.

As Luxembourg transitions into a new era under his leadership, it is clear that the Grand Duke's personal interests and life experiences will play a role in shaping his approach to governance and public engagement.
