Man Arrested After Alleged Assault on Woman in Kiel Apartment

Kiel - A late-night incident in Mettenhof resulted in the arrest of a man accused of assaulting a woman. At approximately 12:50 AM, multiple police units responded to a call from a 40-year-old man who reported that a dispute in an apartment had escalated into violence. According to the caller, the man had physically attacked the woman, prompting him to leave the premises and contact law enforcement.

Upon arrival, officers suspected that the suspect might be armed and posed a threat to the police. Consequently, special units were summoned to the scene. However, the man exited the apartment voluntarily and was subsequently taken into custody. Inside the apartment, officers discovered the injured woman but did not locate any weapons.

The 33-year-old suspect, a German national, was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant and was transported to a correctional facility. The 48-year-old woman, a Polish citizen, sustained facial injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities have initiated investigations into the incident, focusing on charges of bodily harm against both individuals involved. Additionally, the suspect faces charges related to threats made against law enforcement. Investigations are also underway concerning the caller and two other individuals present in the apartment, as they were found to be unlawfully inside the residence in the absence of the owner.

The local police station in Mettenhof is leading the investigation into this case.
