Pop sensation Katy Perry is set to embark on an extraordinary journey into space, fulfilling a long-held dream of hers. The singer will join five other women aboard a rocket, marking a significant milestone in her career. Perry shared her excitement on social media, expressing her intentions to perform while soaring high above the Earth.

Scheduled for Monday, Perry will launch into the cosmos aboard Jeff Bezos' rocket, New Shepard, as part of a mission organized by the Blue Origin spaceflight company. The crew will include Lauren Sánchez, Bezos' partner; renowned television host Gayle King; scientists Aisha Bowe and Amanda Nguyen; and entrepreneur Kerianne Flynn. The journey is a testament to Perry's aspirations, as she disclosed her desire to sing in space during a brief video clip showcasing the training capsule.

In her Instagram post, Perry reflected on the 15-year journey that led her to this point, stating how much she has dreamt of flying into space. The upcoming flight, which is set to take place at approximately 3:30 PM CEST, will reach an altitude of around 100 kilometers, allowing the passengers to experience a brief period of weightlessness.

The crew will don specially designed space suits, created by Lauren Sánchez in collaboration with the New York-based fashion label Monse. Sánchez described the suits as both stylish and functional, adding a touch of flair to the mission. The flight will last roughly ten minutes, during which the crew will experience the wonders of space travel.

Blue Origin has been offering suborbital trips for space tourists for several years, and this mission will mark one of many successful launches. To date, the company has completed ten missions, carrying a total of 52 individuals into the final frontier. The inaugural flight took place in 2021, with Bezos himself among the passengers.
