Inhaler Releases New Album 'Open Wide' - A Journey of Emotion and Growth

Fri 7th Feb, 2025

The Irish rock band Inhaler has made waves in the music industry since their formation in 2018, achieving hundreds of millions of streams and selling over a quarter of a million records. Their latest studio album, titled 'Open Wide', is now available, marking a significant milestone in their artistic journey.

Inhaler, composed of four childhood friends, describes their new album as a reflection of vulnerability, offering a comprehensive view into their emotional landscapes. The title track invites listeners to embrace their music with open arms, blending elements of both pop and rock across the album's tracks.

The band's sound has evolved under the guidance of producer Kid Harpoon, known for his work on acclaimed albums such as 'Harry's House' by Harry Styles. The collaboration has infused a refreshing energy into their music. Drummer Ryan McMahon likens the experience of working with Harpoon to a 'blind date'--exciting yet risky, ultimately proving to be rewarding.

The lead single, 'Your House', presents a harder edge compared to their previous works, featuring a catchy chorus that lifts the mood. Inhaler showcases a newfound lightness in their delivery while maintaining deep, poetic reflections on themes central to growing up.

Tracks like 'Eddie in the Darkness', 'Billy (yeah yeah yeah)', and the latest single 'A Question of You' explore complex topics such as love, poor choices, and friendships, all while remaining rooted in their Dublin hometown. The band does not shy away from addressing broader societal issues impacting their generation.

Inhaler's music has always served as a refuge, but current global events compel them to reflect deeper on their themes. Songs like 'All I Got Is You', 'X-Ray', and 'Little Things' resonate with heartfelt intensity.

Since their debut album 'It Won't Always Be Like This' topped charts in the UK and Ireland in 2021, followed by 'Cuts & Bruises' reaching number one in Ireland and number two in the UK, Inhaler continues to ascend in the music scene. Their recent tours, including performances alongside major acts like the Arctic Monkeys, Pearl Jam, Harry Styles, and Kings of Leon, have further solidified their place in the industry.
