Daring Escape: Hyundai Driver Flees on Foot in Lübeck

Lübeck - In a dramatic incident early on May 15, 2025, a black Hyundai sped through the streets of Lübeck's St. Lorenz district at alarming speeds as the driver attempted to evade a police traffic stop. The vehicle, displaying Hamburg license plates, was being pursued by law enforcement after the driver ignored signals to halt and drove without headlights.

According to police reports, the chase began late at night as officers tried to intercept the vehicle. Instead of complying, the driver accelerated, reaching speeds of up to 180 km/h along Fackenburger Allee, endangering not only himself but also other road users and police vehicles in the vicinity.

The high-speed pursuit extended over several kilometers, leading to tense moments and near-collisions with other police cars. Eventually, the driver brought the vehicle to a stop on Wilhelmstraße and made a quick escape on foot.

Despite a thorough search of the area by police, the individual was not apprehended. However, personal items were discovered inside the abandoned vehicle that may assist authorities in identifying the driver.
