Thu 9th Oct, 2025

Huawei has introduced the Watch Ultimate 2, a premium smartwatch engineered for both everyday users and professional divers. This latest model is distinguished by its robust underwater capabilities and innovative communication features, setting a new benchmark in wearable technology.

The Watch Ultimate 2 is specifically designed to withstand diving depths of up to 150 meters, making it an optimal choice for underwater adventurers. Its case is constructed from a durable zirconium-based metal alloy, ensuring resilience under extreme pressure and harsh aquatic conditions. On land, the smartwatch also supports a range of sports, including golf, catering to diverse athletic interests.

One of the headline features of the Watch Ultimate 2 is its integrated sonar communication module. This technology enables divers to exchange text messages and emojis with other compatible watches underwater, facilitating coordination and safety during group dives. The standard communication range is up to 30 meters, while the built-in SOS feature extends reach to 60 meters, enhancing emergency response capabilities beneath the surface.

Battery life has been a focus for Huawei in this release. The company claims the Watch Ultimate 2 can operate for up to eleven days in power-saving mode, although typical usage yields approximately four and a half days before requiring a recharge. This extended battery performance is achieved without compromising the device's extensive suite of health and fitness tracking features.

The Watch Ultimate 2 is equipped with the TruSense health monitoring system, which tracks eleven core metrics. These include continuous heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen saturation assessment, and comprehensive sleep analysis. This suite of sensors aims to provide users with in-depth insights into their overall well-being, whether they are on land or underwater.

Connectivity is another strong suit of the Watch Ultimate 2. The device is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones, allowing a broad range of users to integrate it into their digital lifestyles. Additionally, the inclusion of an eSIM enables direct connection to mobile networks, supporting calls, messages, and data access without the need for a paired smartphone nearby.

The Watch Ultimate 2 is now available for purchase, starting at 899 euros depending on the selected variant. Early buyers who obtain the watch from Huawei's Berlin store or the official online shop before November 4 can benefit from an extended three-year warranty as well as a complimentary pair of FreeBuds Pro 4 in-ear headphones. A promotional code also offers a ten percent discount on the purchase price, providing added value for initial customers.

The launch of the Watch Ultimate 2 follows recent market research indicating that Huawei has surpassed Apple in global smartwatch sales for the first time, positioning the Chinese company as the leading smartwatch manufacturer. This significant achievement reflects Huawei's ongoing investment in innovative technologies and its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of tech-savvy consumers and specialized user groups.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 establishes a new standard in the smartwatch sector with its blend of advanced diving features, robust health monitoring, and versatile connectivity options. Its unique sonar-based communication sets it apart as an essential tool for divers, while its comprehensive functionality ensures broad appeal among general users seeking high performance and reliability in their wearable devices.
