Hertha BSC is setting ambitious goals for the upcoming season, targeting promotion for both its men's and women's teams. The club's president, Fabian Drescher, expressed optimism during the official season kickoff at the Olympiapark, stating that achieving a dual promotion would be a remarkable accomplishment for the organization.

The men's team, having spent the past two years in the second division, aims to return to the Bundesliga, while the women's team competes in the third-tier Regionalliga. Drescher emphasized the importance of both teams advancing, indicating that their success would represent a significant milestone in the development of women's and girls' football within the club.

Sporting director Benjamin Weber reinforced the club's clear objectives, indicating that there would be no ambiguity regarding their aspirations for the season. In two weeks, the men's team will kick off their campaign with an away match against Schalke, following a friendly encounter against Scottish first division club FC Motherwell.

While the men's team has faced challenges in securing promotion in previous seasons, the women's team's advancement is seen as a necessary step forward in enhancing the club's overall footballing ambitions, particularly in regard to promoting female participation in the sport.

Hertha BSC was one of the last Bundesliga clubs to establish a dedicated women's team, showcasing a commitment to fostering football at all levels within the organization.
