Spooky Festivities Bring Thrills to Halloween in Berlin

Fri 31st Oct, 2025

Halloween is set to bring excitement and eerie celebrations throughout Berlin and Brandenburg, as numerous venues prepare for a weekend filled with themed parties and activities. Residents and visitors can anticipate a diverse selection of events designed for all age groups, from immersive club nights to family-friendly entertainment and pet-friendly gatherings.

One of the central highlights of the festivities is the series of Halloween parties taking place in the Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg. The clubs have been transformed with elaborate decorations, and dozens of DJs are scheduled to perform throughout both Friday and Saturday nights. Attendees are encouraged to arrive in costume, contributing to the lively and immersive atmosphere.

For those seeking a more theatrical experience, the Filmpark Babelsberg in Potsdam invites guests to its annual horror night. Here, visitors can expect encounters with costumed performers depicting monsters, zombies, and other spooky characters as they navigate the park's corridors and outdoor spaces. This interactive setup aims to create an authentic Halloween ambiance, drawing large crowds each year.

Younger audiences are not left out of the celebrations. The Galli Theater in Berlin-Mitte is staging a special production for children aged four and above, where young participants are invited to take part in a Halloween-themed play. This event provides a safe and entertaining environment for families looking to engage in the seasonal festivities together.

For adults seeking a more intense experience, the Malzfabrik in Tempelhof is hosting the Halloween Haunt, an event that restricts entry to those over the age of 18. Visitors will navigate darkened corridors filled with special effects such as strobe lights and fog, while actors known as 'Nightcrawlers' roam the premises to heighten the sense of suspense and thrill.

In recent years, Halloween has also seen an increase in pet-friendly events. Several dog training schools across Berlin and Brandenburg are organizing gatherings where both pets and their owners can participate in themed activities, including obstacle courses designed with a spooky twist. These events emphasize community engagement and responsible pet ownership while embracing the playful spirit of the holiday.

Public safety remains a priority during Halloween celebrations. The Berlin police department will deploy approximately 700 officers throughout the night to ensure the well-being of participants and to prevent disturbances. Key areas of focus include neighborhoods that experienced higher incidences of unrest during previous celebrations, such as the High-Deck-Siedlung and Gropiusstadt in Neukölln, Pallasstraße in Schöneberg, and parts of Moabit.

Last year, Halloween night in Berlin saw a significant police presence due to multiple incidents involving fireworks and vandalism in various districts. Around 130 individuals were temporarily detained following disruptions that included groups, often minors, targeting emergency responders with pyrotechnics. The authorities have since intensified their efforts to maintain a secure environment for all revelers and to minimize the risk of similar occurrences.

As Halloween approaches, Berlin and its surrounding areas are preparing for a vibrant mix of entertainment, community engagement, and enhanced security measures, ensuring that both residents and visitors can enjoy the festivities safely and responsibly.
