These conditions have already led to notable incidents. In Gersfeld near Fulda, a motorist narrowly avoided injury when a tree, likely brought down by strong gusts, fell directly in front of her vehicle. Although the car sustained approximately 8,000 euros in damage, the driver was unharmed.

After he failed to return to shore, companions alerted emergency services, and rescue divers recovered him from the water. Despite attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
