German Pharmacists to Stage 'Supply Blackout' Protest Amid Financial Strain

Pharmacies across Germany are preparing to participate in a nationwide protest on December 17, aiming to highlight the ongoing economic challenges faced by the sector. The initiative, led by the German Federal Union of Associations of Pharmacists (ABDA), will see pharmacies temporarily turning off their lights to draw attention to what they describe as a looming 'supply blackout' in pharmaceutical care.

The protest coincides with a government cabinet session scheduled to discuss the future trajectory of pharmacy services in Germany through proposed pharmacy reforms.
