German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Inaugurate IAA Mobility Auto Show in Munich
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is set to officially open the IAA Mobility auto and traffic exhibition in Munich on Tuesday at 2:00 PM. The automotive industry is eagerly anticipating his stance on the highly debated industrial electricity price, which could provide relief in global competition. This issue revolves around potential subsidies for particularly energy-intensive sectors. Moreover, statements regarding job security in Germany, China, and the phasing out of electric vehicle (EV) incentives are eagerly awaited.
In addition to Scholz, the opening ceremony will feature Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry, and Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder (CSU). Subsequently, a brief tour of the exhibition halls will take place. Due to the possibility of climate activists staging protests during the Chancellor's visit, the police are on high alert.
Prior to the official opening, a forum on the interconnectivity of various modes of transportation will be held. Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr and Deutsche Bahn CEO Richard Lutz are slated to speak with Müller. Additionally, Hollywood actress Natalie Portman is expected to address climate protection.
