On March 26, 2025, a significant accident involving two cyclists occurred on the foot and bike path along the main road in Freiburg. The incident took place around 8 PM at the intersection near Werner-Glatt-Straße, where a 78-year-old rider on a pedelec collided with a 40-year-old road cyclist.
According to reports, both individuals fell to the ground as a result of the collision and sustained serious injuries. At the time of the accident, a larger group of cyclists was traveling from Binzen towards Dreispitz, which contributed to the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene, providing medical assistance before transporting the injured parties to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
