A disturbing incident occurred in Passau when a man drove his vehicle into a group of people, resulting in five injuries, including his wife and young daughter. Authorities are investigating the possibility that this act was connected to a domestic dispute.

The police reported that the 48-year-old suspect, an Iraqi national, may have acted out of frustration stemming from an ongoing custody battle. Previous interactions with law enforcement regarding the couple were noted, suggesting a history of conflict.

The injured include the man's 40-year-old wife and their five-year-old daughter, who are currently receiving medical treatment. Fortunately, the woman's condition is stable, and she is not in life-threatening danger. Meanwhile, three other injured individuals, women aged between 18 and 52, have been released from the hospital after suffering minor injuries such as bruises and scrapes.

The incident unfolded around 3:30 PM near the main train station in Passau, where the suspect reportedly swerved his vehicle onto the sidewalk, deliberately targeting the group. This has led investigators to suspect that the act was premeditated.

The police have confirmed that the man was apprehended at the scene and subsequently questioned. He is expected to appear before a magistrate who will determine whether he should be held in custody. Currently, he faces preliminary charges of attempted homicide.

The Passau Criminal Police, alongside the Public Prosecutor's Office, have taken over the investigation. The family is known to reside in the Passau area, and the police are continuing to gather evidence related to the case.

As this situation develops, authorities are urging anyone with further information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
