The Munich Film Festival last week drew a sizable crowd to the theaters due to the warm weather. With one final farewell, the festival is now over. The 40th Munich Film Festival concludes on Saturday after numerous award ceremonies and nearly 150 films from around the globe. Actress Barbara Sukowa received the Cinemerit Award this year for her contributions to the film industry, making it one of the most coveted prizes. The ZDF movies "Wir haben ein Deal" and "Herrhausen - Lord of the Money" received the Bernd Burgemeister Television Award. The Danish movie "Unruly" by director Malou Reymann received the Catholic Fritz Gerlich Prize for human dignity and civic courage from Cardinal Reinhard Marx.
