Fatal Parking Lot Attack: Man Stabs Ex-Partner and Threatens Police

Nienburg, Lower Saxony - A tragic incident unfolded in the evening hours on a public parking lot in Nienburg, where a 33-year-old man fatally stabbed his former partner, aged 37. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the woman being threatened and attacked around 7 PM on the Verdener Landstraße. They quickly dialed emergency services to alert the police.

The suspect reportedly attacked the victim with a knife, leading to severe injuries that ultimately resulted in her death. After the assault, he fled the scene in a black Mercedes. Shortly afterward, a police patrol located the vehicle, which came to a halt on a nearby road. The suspect exited the car holding a knife and approached the officers. After repeated commands to drop the weapon, he complied and was subsequently taken into custody.

At the crime scene, additional officers discovered the woman, who had succumbed to her injuries. The severity of the stab wounds was such that paramedics could only declare her dead upon arrival.

The Nienburg police, in conjunction with the Verden public prosecutor's office, have launched a murder investigation. A police spokesperson confirmed that the suspect has been presented before a judge for detention proceedings.
