Extendable Dog Leashes Cause Accidents

Flexible leashes caused multiple accidents recently - with painful injuries for their victims.

The flexible leashes give the dogs more room during walks than classic harnesses.  However there is still a lot of scepticism about the new type of dog walking. Dog trainers complain that the new leashes leave the owner with barely any control over the animal.

The almost invisible leash is a danger for other road users. A inline skater in Tutzing almost fell head over heels due to a leash stretched across the pathway, he avoided further injury by throwing himself out of the way. He was slightly injured with a sprained wrist and several abrasions. In Starnberg a cylist fell over a flexible leash at Hofbuchetstraße and suffered lacerations and bruises.
