Yuko Kuhn liest »Onigiri«

Literaturhaus

As Aki learns of her grandmother's passing, she and her mother, Keiko, embark on a journey to Japan--a risky venture as Keiko is battling dementia. However, during a family meal at their ancestral home, the typically quiet woman seems to shed her fatigue and forgetfulness. In a poignant moment, Aki sees her mother transformed into the brave and life-loving woman she once was. Yuko Kuhn, an author from Munich, skillfully weaves the captivating narrative of a German-Japanese family navigating cultural dislocation and rediscovery. This is the literary debut of the autumn from Hanser Berlin.

Yuko Kuhn was born in Munich in 1983. She studied cultural management in Passau and Aix-en-Provence. In 2019, her writing journey began through her work at the HFF / Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München. She resides in Munich with her husband and three children.
