wenn Klang und Licht erlöschen

schwere reiter

What remains when sound and light fade away? This exhibition invites you to approach a world that is often overlooked and to meet individuals whose voices are seldom heard. From September 25 to November 9, 2025, the PATHOS theater will showcase the multimedia exhibition 'wenn Klang und Licht erlöschen' in the foyer of schwere reiter. Based on the poetry cycle of Russian author Vladimir Korkunov, it offers a sensory experience of the lives of deafblind individuals: through poems in written, Braille, and audio formats, tactile sculptures, and guided tours with sign language interpreters, participants will discover what deafblind people last heard or saw. The exhibition is curated by author Slata Roschal, who also translated the poems into German, alongside artist Felicitas Kirgis, Anne Schneider, and the agency Das Vorzimmer. 'wenn Klang und Licht erlöschen' opens up new forms of perception, making poetry visible, audible, and tactile.
