As muses, women have always been in demand. However, creating art and music has often been seen as a domain reserved for men, just as politics, playing football, or flying planes have been. While 'bringing forth into the world' is indisputably their domain, strong female musicians have, despite numerous challenges, followed their calling and created music of individual beauty over the centuries. Unfortunately, they have not always been as visible as they are present. From Hildegard of Bingen and Alma Mahler to Nina Simone, Kate Bush, Bessie Smith, and Ma Rainey, these are just a few examples of women who have been celebrated, forgotten, or found recognition later in their lives, overcoming obstacles and reaching unprecedented heights.

In the program 'FEMALE', heroines from the Middle Ages and Classical periods, pioneers of Blues, 'Women in Jazz', and contemporary songwriters will take the stage alongside Stefanie Boltz. Together, they will explore their individual paths. Collage-like snapshots from the lives and times of these artists will bring us closer to their lives, reflections, and longings, as well as their works. Over many years, Stefanie has pushed the boundaries of the voice-bass duo (with Sven Faller in 'Le Bang Bang'), and for the past eight years, she has been in the spotlight as a leader and songwriter under her own name. Additionally, she runs a concert agency and curates her festival formats; currently, she is the artistic director of 'Alpenrausch' at Gasteig HP8 in Munich. With 'Female', she releases a heartfelt theme that intertwines womanhood and artistry.

Creative collaborators on stage include Christian Wegscheider and Christoph Pepe Auer or Yvonne Moriel, indispensable parts of the German-Austrian music scene. All born in Tyrol and now living in Vienna, they are comfortable on both large and intimate stages, some also serving as educators at the Mozarteum, nurturing the next generation of musicians.
