Schumann Quartett
The Schumann Quartett is set to perform on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 20:00 to 23:00 at the Residenz München, specifically in the Herkulessaal. This concert will feature a magnificent repertoire, including Mozart's String Quartet in D major KV 499, Arriaga's String Quartet No. 2 in A major, and Dvorák's String Quartet No. 12 in F major, Op. 96, known as the 'American' quartet.
The Schumann Quartett, founded in 2007 by the three Schumann brothers, Mark, Erik, and Ken, along with Veit Hertenstein, has been celebrated for their exceptional musicality. Critics have praised their performances as 'full of fire and energy,' highlighting their remarkable virtuosity and readiness to surprise the audience.
Apart from the traditional works of Dvorák and Mozart, the ensemble will present a piece by the Basque composer Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, who was born exactly 50 years after Mozart and is often referred to as the 'Spanish Mozart.'
