Renaud Garcia-Fons: ,,Blue Maqam"
Join us for an extraordinary concert featuring Renaud Garcia-Fons, a world-renowned double bassist and composer, celebrated for his unique blend of jazz, classical, and world music. Known as a magician of the double bass, he has garnered international acclaim and numerous awards, including the Echo - German Music Award for Jazz in 2010 and 2012, and the prestigious Giraldillo de Oro awarded for the first time to a double bassist at the Flamenco Biennale Sevilla in 2012.
In his latest program, "Blue Maqam," Renaud collaborates with his daughter, Solea Garcia-Fons, who is well-versed in traditional music and lyrical singing. Together, they will present a repertoire that showcases songs in eight different languages: Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, Greek, Spanish, Italian, and French. This performance will highlight the rich musical cultures of the Mediterranean, as well as unexpected influences from Persia and Irish England.
The ensemble also features Stéphan Caracci, a virtuoso on the vibraphone and marimba, along with Jean-Luc Di Frayas on drums and percussion, promising an enchanting and magical musical journey.
