Peter Pichler
Münchner Kammerspiele – Werkraum
On Friday, April 25, 2025, at 21:00, the exceptional musician Peter Pichler will perform at the Münchner Kammerspiele - Werkraum. He presents music against despotism for Mixturtrautonium and voice, alongside the release of his new album. This album showcases the captivating sound world of the Mixturtrautonium, a unique instrument that made music history in the 1920s as a precursor to synthesizers. With subharmonic frequencies, its sound resonates between the past and the future. Oskar Sala famously integrated it into Hitchcock's film scores, and now Peter Pichler brings it to the present in all its facets. His second album focuses on classical repertoire for Mixturtrautonium and voice, featuring live accompaniment from renowned soprano Melanie Dreher. The album includes works by Hindemith, Genzmer, Dessau, and Purcell, as well as world premieres of previously unpublished pieces. Some of these works, such as the cycle 'The Seven Deadly Sins · The Seven Virtues,' blend baroque affect theory with modern soundscapes, creating a musical panorama rich in tonal melodies, textures, and dramatic effects.Münchner Kammerspiele – Werkraum
