Opera Incognita: Rigoletto

Allerheiligen-Hofkirche
Giuseppe Verdi's 'Rigoletto' is not just his first masterpiece but also one of the most renowned and frequently performed operas in music history. This tragic tale revolves around the Duke of Mantua, his aging court jester Rigoletto, and Rigoletto's daughter Gilda. The opera is famous for its iconic arias, including the cynical Duke's sardonic 'La donna è mobile'. Opera Incognita presents this poignant legend of human desire, paternal love, abuse of power, and misguided curses in a unique chamber version, featuring five soloists and additional performers. The evening will transform 'Rigoletto' into a scenic picture book through grand 'Tableaux Vivants' (living pictures), drawing inspiration from Caravaggio's dramatic paintings.
