Münchner Philharmoniker: Ollikainen / Silvesterkonzert: Beethoven
Experience the profound message of unity and the universal longing for peace encapsulated in Ludwig van Beethoven's iconic Ninth Symphony. This masterpiece resonates with hope, especially as we welcome a new year. The symphony's journey from darkness to a stirring choral finale serves as a powerful affirmation of humanity and a celebration of life that overcomes adversity.
This year, the Finnish conductor Eva Ollikainen makes her debut with the Münchner Philharmoniker during the New Year's concert. She will be joined by a vibrant quartet of young soloists and the well-established Philharmonic Choir. As the chief conductor of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Ollikainen has successfully brought the focus of the classical world further north through innovative concert programming and the discovery of young composers.
