making Theatre - Wie Theater entsteht

Deutsches Theatermuseum

Theater is a multifaceted cosmos where individuals in artistic, craft, and technical professions work together towards a common goal: the premiere night. In the grand special exhibition from 2025/26, visitors will step into the backstage area of the Munich Residenztheater and follow the current production of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," which premieres on May 16, 2025. How do people in dramaturgy, workshops, and rehearsal stages collaborate? The exhibition explores what moves the theater world today, 50 or 100 years ago, showcases highlights from the historical collections of the German Theater Museum, and invites discussions about the future of theater.
