Join us for an evening of literature and music featuring the Bosnian author Faruk Sehic, renowned for his poignant storytelling and a significant voice from the former Yugoslavia. The event will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 19:30 to 21:30 at Glockenbachwerkstatt, Blumenstraße 7, 80469 Munich.

Sehic, winner of the prestigious Mesa-Selimovic Award and the EU Literature Prize, will present excerpts from his novel Von der Una. This work reflects on life before, during, and after the war, capturing his childhood in Yugoslavia, the front lines, and the struggles of survival. The reading will be accompanied by Nadina Memagic, who will read passages in German, and the musician Asmir Sabic, who will enhance the atmosphere with a contemporary Sevdah performance.

Following the readings, a discussion led by Denijen Pauljevic will explore the themes of literature as a means of memory, resistance, and survival. This event promises to touch on the unspeakable and the lingering effects of the conflicts that tore Europe apart in the 1990s.
