The Flohmarkt Theresienwiese during the Spring Festival is a must-visit for all antique and vintage enthusiasts. Organized by the Bavarian Red Cross for over 30 years, this massive flea market attracts around 30,000 visitors who browse and haggle at over 300 stalls, all under the watchful gaze of Bavaria's statue. On April 26, 2025, this vibrant market will once again come alive.

As the early morning chill still lingers in April, vendors emerge from their sleeping bags, rubbing their eyes, and ready to set up shop right at 7:00 AM. Many arrive the day before, eager to secure prime spots starting from Friday at 2:00 PM. Enthusiastic early birds can be seen rummaging through stalls even before dawn, flashlight in hand, bargaining for first dibs on treasures. From vinyl records and paintings to vintage coats, old dishes, designer items, and quirky knick-knacks -- the market embodies the adage, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Here, nearly everything that has accumulated over the years in attics and basements finds a new home.

However, there are a few exceptions outlined by the organizer, the Bavarian Red Cross: the sale of new items, large furniture, motor vehicles, food, animals, plants, war toys, and any media that is violent or pornographic is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, vehicles are not allowed on the market grounds, even for setting up stalls, and sales from cars are not permitted. The use of radios, turntables, and loudspeakers is also banned. Political and religious stands, as well as demonstrations, are not allowed. It is essential to keep pathways and emergency routes clear, and no stalls may occupy sidewalks or green areas.

Buying and selling at the Flohmarkt Theresienwiese is permitted until 4:00 PM, after which visitors can unwind at the Spring Festival after a day of tough negotiations.
