FINALE Grande im Rosental [g?'?lIfn]
Join us for the final exhibition at Artothek im Rosental, featuring the works of ten artists: Sabine Bretschneider, Elke Härtel, Florian Lechner, Torsten Mühlbach, Ivo Rick, rasso rottenfusser, Venske und Spänle, Moritz Walser, Patricia Wich, and Elisabeth Wieser. These artists explore and expand the dimensions of the exhibition space, leaving their mark and uncovering unseen elements of art. After over 200 exhibitions, this event signifies both an end and a new beginning, as the artists weave their narratives and leave behind layers of meaning.
The opening vernissage will take place on Thursday, May 15, at 19:00, with speeches by Dr. Michael Ott (Cultural Office of the City of Munich), Tina Hudelmaier, M.A. (Artistic Director of Artothek & Bildersaal), and Florian Froese-Peeck (Artistic Concept of the Exhibition). The introductions will be translated into German Sign Language. Following this, there will be a performance titled 'das was war ist das(s) was ist ist das(s) was wird' by Nikolai Vogel, which will involve themes of polishing, loops, and the passage of time.
The finissage and farewell celebration will occur on Saturday, May 31, starting at 18:00, featuring a performance titled 'I Kiss Your Style' by Stefan Römer, who will read and sing from his new sound project. The event will also include dance and music by DJ GHETTO DISCO and djkranklaut.
Due to extensive renovations at the City Museum, the art space will be relocating. Starting October 1, 2025, the artwork rental will be at the new address: Burgstr. 4, 80331 Munich (near Marienplatz).
